Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful, relaxing Easter with our families...I think it's the calm before the storm because for the next 25 years we'll have egg hunts and baskets galore! My brothers and Brett's sister weren't able to be home because they all had finals the next week to prepare for, so we missed them! We went to church in the morning, then had breakfast with my family, did lots of relaxing, and then had dinner with Brett's family that evening.

27 weeks :) Getting closer to holding our little love!

This post is also in memory of sweet Mikey, Jeremy's dog. He bought him from a homeless man late one night in Gainesville, and although us Taylors didn't need another pup, we all fell in love with him! He was the neatest dog and could get any of our other dogs to play, even the older ones :) He had so much personality and adored Jeremy - so sweet to see. His life was so full but too short, and he is in doggy heaven where there are no cars on the streets... We love you!

New York City

Last weekend, Brett and I went to NYC for 4 days. He had never been before and we wanted to take one more trip before baby, and since it's not really a great vacation spot with a little one, we decided to save a tropical destination for later and go to New York City! I don't think Brett was as excited before the trip as I was, but he LOVED it! We had a great time, and every minute of every day was packed with things to do and people to visit with. We really enjoyed ourselves and will always remember that trip!
L to R: Brett, Kacy (25 1/2 weeks), Elaine, Tom, Chuck, Paige - First night, great dinner at Rare

Paige lives in NYC and is in the CRNA (nurse anesthetist) program at Columbia, and her bf Chuck lives in CT, so he came into town. Elaine and her bf Tom are in law school at Georgetown, so they also came in town for the weekend. It was SO GREAT to see everyone!!
Brett in Times Square! Crazy busy place and a little overwhelming :)
Paige and I at Rockefeller Center
We saw Mamma Mia on Broadway and it was so good! I was planning the trip and bought the tickets ahead of time only to realize a week later that I bought tickets for the WRONG weekend :( Of course, they were nonrefundable and nontransferable, so I was really bummed about this airhead pregnancy brain episode! However, I have a friend going to the city this weekend who was able to use the tickets, and we bought some the day of from the TKTS booth. The seats weren't as good as what I had bought before, but it was still so fun!

When we got out of the show, it had POURED and the rain was blowing sideways. Lots of thunder and lightening, but we still trekked (on the subways!) across town to see Paige and Columbia University.
Me and Brett in front of the original library at Columbia.
We went on to have a great dinner at Extra Virgin. No picture, it was all we could do just to get to the restaurant with our umbrellas flipped inside out :)
The next day, Brett and I did the touristy double decker bus tour which was perfect. We both really enjoyed that day...we were able to see all parts of the city, it was sunny and beautiful, and we did a little shopping too :) The above picture is from Brett's favorite meal at the Oak Room.
On to FAO Schwartz where Brett picked out his first gifts for baby girl! He found her the softest, sweetest teddy bear, and then he spotted the puppets. Brett makes voices for everything, including our dogs :) and so I think a puppet is PERFECT for him to entertain the baby with. There was a wall full of all different sweet animals, and he chose the raccoon because it was the "most realistic." I think it may scare her, but his voice for it is hilarious :)
Beautiful day in Central Park with LOTS of walking :)
Next night at Otto for an amazing dinner and dessert with Paige, Leanne and her husband Sebastian. Leanne and Sebastian are both attorneys in the city and are very busy, but we were finally able to get together!
The last morning, Brett and I in front of our hotel, The Mansfield, which was a perfect location right in the middle of everything! Our flight didn't leave until the afternoon, so we had a great breakfast at Sarabeths and did a little more shopping. A perfect trip all around!

25 weeks

Another update...we are at 25 weeks and doing very well! I had my monthly appointment today to check my urine, weight, measure my belly, and hear sweet baby girl's heartbeat. Yes, I still get goosebumps :) The OB said everything is "textbook" and right on track! I go back in 3 weeks for my next appointment and the glucose tolerance test (blah!) and then after that, I start going every TWO weeks! Wow, I guess we really are getting close!
I'm still feeling really good, sleeping well, feeling LOTS of baby movement, and not really having any cravings. Sometimes I feel like I'm growing by the minute, but that's OK :)
This weekend, Brett and I are off to NYC...our last big trip, just the two of us!
I'll update when we're back home!

Beach Day

We were finally able to head to the beach! It was a beautiful day, and Courtney and Austin were there with me (and this belly!) and Brett :) I was very excited to dig out the sand and finally lay on my stomach, but it was not nearly as comfortable as I thought it would be....oh well!

1st Baby Shower

As I mentioned, I had my first baby shower and it was PERFECT! Patti, Laura, and Paige did such a great job...they didn't forget a single detail, the food and decorations were great, and I was able to visit with wonderful friends and family! Here are some pictures, there are quite a few (especially for my family who couldn't be there to see), but at least I didn't put all 500 that are on my computer right now :)
I am so thankful for everyone who was able to be there!
The amazing diaper cake that Patti made!

The girls had set up "onesie decorating" with iron on fabrics and patterns. Everyone's onesies turned out SO CUTE! I can't wait to dress her in them :)

Brett moved the nursery furniture around and put together the mobile and stroller Sunday night.
Somebody's excited :)
Brett and Mom started to get some things organized in the nursery

Thank you again for an amazing weekend! I can't wait for our baby girl to meet and love all of you as much as I do. She is already so blessed!!

Girls' Weekend!

This past weekend was one I'll never forget! Several of my wonderful friends were able to come into town for a few days, and we stayed so busy! They travelled in from Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, New York City, and Ft Myers. They planned and gave me my first baby shower and it was so beautiful! We had lots of catching up to do, ate lots, oohed and aahhed lots over all things baby...it was so hard to say goodbye, but I can't wait for our baby girl to meet her "aunties!" They have already spoiled her rotten :) THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU all, you'll never know how much this weekend meant to me!
Laura, Mom, Patti, & Paige running a few errands
After a great lunch outside on Friday...beautiful weather, beautiful friends!
Patti, me, Laura, Paige.... baby girl was moving lots after my virgin pina colada :)

Picture with Jess once she made it into town. Me (23 weeks) and Jess, 21 weeks pregnant with her baby girl Ella Rose...Jess and her husband Seth are considering moving down to Stuart, and I couldn't be more excited for the potential to raise our baby girls together!!
Of course the pregnant girls needed ice cream :)

Me & Jess relaxing with Gus and Maggie after the shower, back at my house
So Jess & I caved and took one of these :) Don't mind our appearances, it was a very long and busy weekend and we were ready for sleep! I may be pushing my belly out a little ;)

Savannah

I'm a little behind on my blogging.... Last weekend Brett and I went to Savannah, GA for Lauren's baby shower. Lauren's baby girl, Aubrey, is due May 22 and it was so nice to visit with her and more of Brett's family there!

Out to dinner down on River Street
Brett and I after dinner - my belly REALLY shows after meals! Also, after I eat she moves like crazy!! She kicks and punches, and now I can even feel her rolling...kind of a strange feeling I can't describe, but amazing! I'm trying to coach her to go head down ;)

Savannah has always had a spot in our hearts because that is where we got engaged back in July 2007. We love to visit and really enjoyed our weekend until the last morning. While we were gone, my parents watched my dogs, Maggie and Molly, for us. We had no idea that Molly was so sick, and Sunday morning my mom called to say that Molly didn't make it through the night :( I'll never get over the fact that I wasn't home with her, but maybe my sweet girl planned it that way... either way, our trip ended quickly and we had a long drive home. We had to make one more stop on our way out of town at the fountain at Forsyth Park (where Brett asked the famous question a few years back!) We had a picture from that day, and I wanted one of us pregnant, and we'll go back one day with our baby girl... our sequence. With all that being said, don't mind our puffy eyes, it was a rough morning...
