Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there, especially to my Dad and Kate's Dad :)

I love these men so much. Brett is such a wonderful Dad to Kate, and words can't express how much love, respect and appreciation my brothers and I have for my Dad.
(And these pictures are funny...it looks like Kate enjoys lounging on laps.
But she doesn't. She enjoys GOING ;)
We had a nice day lunching and relaxing by the pool.

Dad enjoying some well deserved relaxation. I have never known a harder working, more thoughtful, giving man than my Dad. He sets the bar.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to sweet Jackson Evan! Born 6-16-12 at 7 lbs 7 oz...
We are so excited to FINALLY meet you sweet boy!

Sweet cousins

Last weekend, Brett's cousin Ian and his wife, Lauren and their precious Aubrey came to visit! Aubrey is 2 months older than Kate, and although they "met" each other about 8 months ago, it was so fun to get the girls together again!
There are many, many ways in which our little families are very similar so our time with them is always great!! We really enjoyed our 5 days together and we feel so lucky that Kate will always have Aubrey in her life :)

Kate was napping when they arrived, so when she woke up, she did her classic laugh/cry smiley grumpy face when I carried her to the living room...where there were new faces and a sweet little one playing with all of her toys!

Don't worry, she warmed up quickly! All weekend, Kate pulled on Aubrey, but A was great at shrugging her little shoulders to get K's hand off ;)

Kate opening her first 1st birthday gift from them. How in the world is my little angel baby almost ONE?!?

The first full day they were here, Brett was working and it rained alllllll day and I got a little cabin fever. I'm not used to being inside all day and neither is K, but if we had to be cooped up, thank goodness it was A & family!
Poor Ian - 2 mamas, 2 babies and Elmo on repeat. What a sport :)

Don't worry, the weather cleared up the next day and these girls LOVED swimming together! We grilled burgers, Brett's family came down, the babies kind of napped on the same schedule and Lauren and I even had 20 minutes of sun lounging with cold beers in hand!

Aubrey was CRACKING UP at Gus swimming in the pool!

Lauren is SUCH a good mama, and of course Kate took to her right away. We had a few "This is what twins are like!" moments. Ha!

Aunt Kim & Uncle Eddie came by too! There isn't a baby who doesn't love Aunt Kim :)

They happen to have matching outfits, so of course we had to get a pic. Yes, Aubrey loves Sesame Street that much - couldn't take her eyes off it!

On their last day we headed to the beach! The babies LOVED every second of it, even though we didn't even leave the house until Aubrey's nap time. She's so laid back!

Rinsed and cuddled after beach showering then home for more pool swimming then good naps!

Out to dinner on the river their last night here. Aubrey & Kate were so good - Kate LOVES grilled cheese like her mama ;)

Last night of this visit - we were sad to see them leave but I am SO excited for all of our fun vacations together in the future! Next time it will be our turn to visit them in Savannah - I know, rough life :)
We miss and love y'all!
