I do

Three years ago today, Brett and I said "I do." So many wonderful things have happened since then and I LOVE this life we live. I couldn't feel more blessed or be more thankful!

This is the best wedding pic I could find quickly...we have amazing albums and videos but no "rights" to any pics from the photographer for our own postings...

And now.... (or at least a few days ago. I need to upload some pictures from today)
Our perfect little family of 3.
On our wedding day, we thought life was perfect and then Kate came along and now it really is perfect.
Happy Anniversary to the best husband, friend, Daddy...I love you.

I'll be back soon with some pictures from an amazing wedding I was in over Memorial Day weekend!

10 months?!

Wait, what?! Oh my sweet angel, how have 10 months passed? We are having so much fun with you! You have such a personality and it is so fun to watch you play and interact.

I know I'm a bit behind on blogging but there's been a sweet girl wanting to walk and play a lot, and since this is my "journal" for all things Kate, I'll recap with some pictures...

So, you are walking! You took your first steps at about 9 months, and now you get better and better everyday (although you've had a couple of rough falls - breaks my heart.) You're all over the place, and all you want to do is get down and walk. You still crawl some but definitely prefer running walking. Also, you DANCE! When you're standing and music comes on, you bounce those little legs to the beat and it is the most precious thing in the world. I don't know where you get this rhythm - not me! That must be the Bourgeios in you!

I LOVE this picture! You always have a huge smile when you're walking - you are so proud of yourself! Your little red top lip was your first big boo-boo - you cried, you bled, I scooped you up, called Nannie, you calmed down, then I cried :( This picture was just a little bit later...happy girl!
Also, as of today, you have 6 teeth! 4 up top, 2 on the bottom.

You also make this scrunchy face sometimes when you smile...and all the time when Daddy does it to you! You love to imitate sounds we make and you still crack up at the dogs.

You have been taking swimming lessons with some buddies and you're getting better at the whole "getting dunked" thing. You cough and sputter much less than before and you really like Ms. Fran! At the last lesson, you even "jumped" to her from sitting on the side and you can hold onto the side too! Big girl!

Yes, you're giving Mason a kiss. It's so cute to watch y'all interact - you make each other smile and laugh, which makes your mamas so happy too.

I don't want to jinx anything, but we're finally on a sane sleeping schedule! You go down between 8-9 and usually make it until about 5, then you nurse and sleep until about 7. One time, you even slept 9-7 and I may or may not have been so excited that I ran out the front door in my PJs to tell PopPop who was in his front yard. You sleep in your crib every single night and you sometimes snuggle with your soft giraffe. When you wake in the mornings, we usually let you stay babbling and playing in your crib for 15-20 minutes. You're happy there and it gives us a little more time to get ready for work, and then when we pick you up....oh, it's one of my favorite things. You LIGHT UP and have the most precious smile when we open your door. What did we ever do without you?

Enjoying your lunch today - blueberries, kiwi, ziti with sauce,
and egg whites.  What a meal!

You're still a little picky with eating but you're getting a good variety and you're growing :) Right now, your absolute favorite are blueberries. I don't think you've ever refused them. You also like my frozen yogurt a lot ;) When you're in your highchair, we usually have to put the dogs out because you love to throw your food over the side to them. Stinker!

You still love to play outside and we have been spending lots of time in the water, which means a hat all the time and lots of sunscreen. You are a good sport, no battles there!

Today on your 10 month birthday! Don't mind your crazy hair - your barrettes still slip out pretty easily :)

Kate Elizabeth, I love you so much. You are beautiful, happy, motivated and feisty and you just make everyday perfect. I hardly remember what life was like before you because you are such an amazing part of our family. We are so thankful for your sweet little life and we love watching you learn each day.
You are my sunshine and you are my favorite thing in the world. I love you.

Swim lessons

This morning Kate started "swimming" lessons.  For those of you out of the baby world, this means she'll learn to flip to her back, get to the side of the pool, and hold on. She isn't learning the butterfly or breaststroke...yet ;) Pretty important for a baby who has a pool just steps out of our back door and my parents' too, where she spends lots of time.

She absolutely loves the water and has no fear, but as you can see in the video, she'll have to work on holding her breath before going under :( Her little boyfriend Mason did great with no swallowing/coughing, so maybe that's why she went to cry to him at the end! Ha!

I know this one's a little blurry, but you can see Kate smiling so big at Ms. Fran

This is the closest one I have to everyone looking :)

She's great at floating!

Mason's a champ holding the side! Kate's learning.

"Daddy, can you get me out of this pool where they make me go under?!"

So then at home, Kate took a nap and had lunch, and then a little part of me was afraid that she would now be afraid of the water. So I brought her in the pool with me and.... just as happy as always :)

Ms. Fran said babies who swallow lots of water shouldn't go under more than 3 times/day, so don't you worry, I didn't force her under in our pool. I'm just following the rules :)

Now before you all think I'm a big wimp, I know that she'll have to keep learning but today was just the first day. Look at that sweet face! It's hard on this mama's heart to see her scared face so she deserved a just for fun swim.
