My Molly girl

This is so hard to write about, but my sweet Molly girl is so much a part of our lives that she deserves a post to celebrate her life. My little angel passed away March 27 at 14 1/2 years old. I know she lived a long life for a little dog, and she had a wonderful, full life - I'm trying to find peace in that :)

After begging and begging for my own maltese puppy, I got her right after my 13th birthday - Molly has been with me for more than half of my life!

She's been with me through middle and high school, college, marriage, and many trips. She was my cuddle partner during really hard times and really great times, my greeter every time I walked in the door, my bedmate, and the best little shadow I could ever ask for.

She was there for all of my firsts - first night away at college, first house, first job, first pregnancy...I wish so badly our baby girl could know her, but Molly would lay on my prego belly and I know she knew.

Here are some more pictures, there are quite a few but they each make me smile and I need that :)

Paige and Laura with me, Maggie and Molly at our house in Gainesville. So thankful for such a wonderful college life!

I am so thankful for all of my years with my sweet Molly and all the happiness she brought to my family...she definitely ruled the roost. Even the labs respected her 4 pound self :)

I'll never forget the way she fit perfectly on my lap, how she followed me and Brett all around the house wherever we went, the sound of her little feet click-clacking on our tile floor, and how Dad said her name when he held her <3

I know all dogs go to heaven, but why must they go so soon?

Update

Just a little update on baby girl....she's growing quickly and so am I! Unless there are any complications at any of my appointments, we won't have another ultrasound unless we opt to do the 4D ultrasound when I'm further along! However, I have no doubts that she is there....she is moving and kicking so much and it's such a wonderful, reassuring feeling! For about a week now, you can feel some of her kicks by touching my belly and Brett gets just as excited as I do each time he feels her move. Most of her movement is when I finally sit down at work or lay down at night to go to bed...I'm a little nervous that this is an indication of future sleep patterns ;) Still feeling great, just never knew that leaning over to tie my sneakers could be so difficult! Ha! We bought nursery furniture and our sweet baby already has some precious clothes...sometimes I just can't resist, I've waited my whole life to buy baby clothes! Time is flying by, I can't believe we're just 4 months away from holding her!! We're treasuring our time together and with  friends and family...

This weekend, Brett and I are heading to Savannah to celebrate with Lauren Bladergroen (due May 22) and shower her with sweet baby love :)

Around the house

We've been living in our house for just over a year now, and we have stayed so busy with projects! For the most part, other than football season, it seems we spend each weekend working on something new. Dad, Brett, my mom, and dad's friend have done most of the work. Scotty is very helpful when he's home, and I'm not allowed on scaffolding or ladders, so I'm good at painting trim down low and planting flowers :) We love our house, it's perfect for us with a great yard for our dogs and baby girl on the way :) Here are some pictures from last weekend...I'll try to put together a little "before and after" post soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Nothing super eventful for us, we both have to work tomorrow, but we had dinner at my parents' and Scotty is in town during his spring break, so he and Brett had to have festive beers :) Scotty's dog Mac wanted some too...he loves beer.

Don't drink the water....

... at my office! It has become a baby factory ;) There is definitely a lot of hcg floating around, which makes this whole pregnancy thing even more fun! One staff member just had a beautiful baby girl on February 20, so she didn't make the picture...
From left: Dr. Koblegard (14 weeks), me (20 weeks), and Lucinda (20 weeks), our amazing drug rep! OK, I know, she doesn't really work at our office but we LOVE when she stops by ;) Lucinda is as big of a Gator fan as Dr. K and I, and she's having a baby boy due 2 days after my baby girl. Dr. Koblegard is not going to find out the gender, how exciting!!

Happy Birthday Brett! And my belly has arrived :)

Brett celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday! We had a great dinner at our house with family that was in town - we are so blessed to have our family all close by! We had lots to celebrate, as yesterday was also my 20 week mark....we are halfway to holding this sweet baby girl!

Being pregnant is so much fun, and in the past 2 weeks or so, my baby bump has really popped out of nowhere!! Everyday at work, SEVERAL patient's moms ask if I'm pregnant...I get excited to tell them our good news everytime, but just once I want to lie and say "no" and see their reaction :) The first patient family who asked last week went like this (coming from the mother): "Ms. Kacy, are you pregnant?" Yes, I sure am! I'm due in July and am so happy, thanks for noticing! Then she says, "Ya, I was gonna say...you a stick figure everywhere else but with that belly, I knew you was...Girl, you about to get real busy!" Keeps me entertained :)
Here are several pictures from Brett's birthday night...

Tired :) Baby girl was kicking so much (all that cake!) but still not able to feel by touching my belly...Courtney tried!

Good Times

Brett and I really enjoyed our night the other night with Scotty, Matt, and Jane. We went to dinner, then went to our great local bar, Carson's, to visit some more. They enjoyed their beers, I really enjoyed my bowl of chocolate and vanilla ice cream at the bar! Don't judge ;)

IT'S A....

Today was the big day and it was incredible! Most importantly, the baby looks very healthy!! I drank a little bottle of orange juice before our ultrasound just to be sure baby had some sugar and didn't sleep through it (can't tell the gender in a legs-crossed, sleeping baby!), but it might have been a little too much because with such a wiggleworm, the tech had to be patient trying to get pictures for measurements! Organs are all present and functioning, the HEART HAS 4 CHAMBERS, 2 arms, 2 legs, 10 fingers, 10 toes and a "great brainstem!" All in all, an AMAZING visit. Here's a picture...
Head on the right, chest/abdomen on the left. The roundish dark spot on the chest is the heart, and it was fluttering away at 144 beats per minute. Can you tell the gender?

GIRL!!
We didn't care if this baby was going to be a boy or girl, but I'm sure relieved to have my girl...I know she will change our lives in an incredible way!
Outside the office with pictures of our baby girl....
Mom took this, she was in her car in the parking lot waiting to hear, and Brett is sharing our big news!
Let the shopping begin ;)
